League season begins on Sunday
The pre season preparations for the Northampton Town Ladies have gone well with some very respectable results.
The management and coaching staff made a decision to prepare by only having fixtures against higher ranking opposition given this season's promotion objectives and this has proved to clarify to the players exactly what standards will be required to achieve the club's aims.
A number of new signings have been made and they have definitely added strength to the squad. Competition for places will be fierce and this can only be a positive factor.
The Ladies have been very pleased with the application of the players throughout pre-season training and how they have taken the methods practiced in training in to games. They have introduced specific conditioning and fitness training to increase stamina and the ability to perform over longer periods and this has definitely proved beneficial.
The league programme begins on 7th September with a home fixture at Daventry versus Moulton Ladies followed by trips to Thorplands, Thrapston and Kettering.

Peterborough United drew 0-0
Trinity Ladies drew 1-1
Raunds Ladies won 4-2
Kettering Town lost 2-1
