LAWSON D'ATH SIGNS NEW, IMPROVED CONTRACT

Midfielder pens new Sixfields deal

Midfielder Lawson D'Ath has signed a new, improved contract to stay at Sixfields until June 2016.

D'Ath, who joined the Cobblers just before the start of the season, originally signed a contract until the January transfer window, but that has now been extended by a season and a half.

The 21 year old is the second top scorer with four goals in three starts and seven substitute appearances, and manager Chris Wilder says that Lawson deserves his new contract.

"He has done really well for us, either starting games or coming off the bench," said Wilder.

"We feel he has done enough, and shown enough potential, for us to want him to be part of the squad we are building for the longer term.

"Lawson is still only 21 and he will continue to develop but if he can continue to work as hard as he has done, he will be a very good player for the club.

"His new contract reflects the progress he has made and the potential we feel he has to develop further."
