The views of Chris Wilder ahead of Newport County v Northampton Town
Cobblers boss Chris Wilder is challening his side to maintain their consitent start to the season ahead of Saturday’s trip to Newport.
“We want to be up there challenging with the big boys and we will only do that by working hard consistently,” he said.
“We set a very high standard with our performance at Dagenham, especially in the first half. We’re delighted with the start we’ve made and we want that to continue.
“August was a tough month with the amount of games we had and there is no doubt that playing Saturday to Saturday gives you that time on the training ground to get some good work in to the players.
“It’ll be a tough physical test at Newport and we will need to stand up to the physical challenge.
“When you go away from home you have to be hard to beat but you can’t just soak up pressure without having that attacking threat at the other end and we had that last weekend.”
