CHRIS WILDER ON DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE V NORTHAMPTON TOWN

4 September 2014

The Cobblers boss ahead of Dagenham & Redbridge v Northampton Town

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder says that happy memories from last season's trip to Dagenham won't count for anything this Saturday afternoon.

“I’m sure the game there at the end of last season will live long in the memory for our supporters but that game will count for nothing on Saturday,” he said.

“It was a real group effort that day from the players and the supporters but Saturday will be a different game and it’s two different teams with new players.

“We think we can win anywhere in League 2 if we are right but if we’re not focused then we can get turned over anywhere as well.

“Dagenham are forever the underdogs but they’ve had a good start to the season and we need to be up for the battle on Saturday.

“We can be pleased with our start to the season but we are looking to kick on.

“It’s an evolving team and the additions we’ve made to the squad this week can only make us better.

“We’ve got some exciting players and we always look like we can score but we need to show a little bit more quality in and around the box.”
