The Cobblers boss on Rochdale v Northampton Town

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder reflecting on Tuesday night’s FA Cup first round replay at Rochdale.

“It was a fantastic start but a really disappointing finish,” he said.

“We were a touch disappointed we didn’t increase our lead when we were on top, I thought the front three were outstanding in the first half and we looked a real threat.

“Rochdale are a really good side but we defended superbly well and I felt we looked comfortable. Sometimes you have to give credit to the opposition and they worked extremely hard to get back into the tie and unfortunately for us two late goals have won it for them.

“The results aren’t going our way at the moment but the performances are okay and we just need to marry the two together.

“This is a group that is together and there is a spirit and determination in the group to turn things around.

“Saturday is a massive game for us now and we need to turn the corner pretty quickly.”
