The Cobblers boss ahead of Cambridge United v Northampton Town

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder previews Friday night’s trip to Cambridge United.

“This is an important period for us leading up to Christmas,” he said.

“We are desperate to cling on to tails of the top seven and the only way we can do that is by putting in good performances and getting good results.

“With the personnel we’ve got coming back we believe we can do that and I think we’ve seen some encouraging and promising signs in the two games this week.

“Cambridge, like ourselves, will be looking to find some consistency and like all the teams in this league everyone is looking to put a run together.

“I’m sure we will have a good following again and there should be a cracking atmosphere under the lights.

“Friday night games tend to be played at a higher tempo and we are expecting a hectic game but it’s one we are really looking forward to.”
