Chris Wilder reflects on Northampton Town v AFC Wimbledon

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder reflecting on Saturday’s 2-0 home win against AFC Wimbledon.

“We needed a win and I’m delighted for everybody,” he said.

“I really felt for the supporters at Luton last week and today was a really big game for us.

“It wasn’t a vintage three flowing performance and we know we will play better and the squad will get stronger but today it was just about getting over the finishing line and picking up the three points.

“It’s a big three points for us and I thought the two centre halves were outstanding. Jordan has deserved a clean sheet and the two loan players that came in put in man performances.

“This is an important month for us, we need to keep ourselves in contention in the league and now we can go and give it a right go in the two cup games we’ve got coming up.”
