CHRIS WILDER - 'OUR GAME MANAGEMENT WAS POOR'

14 November 2014

Cambridge United v Northampton Town

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder reflecting on Friday night’s 2-1 defeat at Cambridge United.

“The game changed from the kick off after we scored and the game management from senior players was really poor,” he said.

“It was a big night for us and it’s a game from the position we were in we should have picked up three points and an away win.

“I felt we were comfortable in the game and really we should have been ahead at half-time with the opportunities that we had.

“Full credit to Cambridge they went for the win after they equalised but it’s frustrating because at times we look a really good side but we can’t just look a good side, we need to do the business on the pitch.

“Tom Newey rolled his ankle in the first half but I thought Gregor Robertson did really well when he came on.

“Chris Hackett had to come off because of his heart condition, the same thing happened at Morecambe last season and he should be fine for Tuesday.”
