The views of the Cobblers boss ahead of Leyton Orient v Northampton Town

TICKET DETAILS

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder previews Tuesday night’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy area quarter-final tie at Leyton Orient.

“It’s going to be a tough ask but whatever group of players we pick we expect them to go well,” he said.

“They have got a lot of quality in their squad but we’ve shown already this season at Wolves and Portsmouth that we can go away and win in cup competitions.

“We want to progress in the competition, we want to win in everything we do and Tuesday night is no different.

“We have to have a game plan and we can’t go gung-ho and look to win the game in the first ten minutes. We’ll look to be nice and tight at the start and its upto them to come and break us down but we still have to have that attacking threat.

“I was a bit disappointed and frustrated with our our first half performance on Saturday and I thought we should have problem solved a bit better out on the pitch. We felt it was a game we could have lost but in the second half after we had changed a few things round we felt it was a game we could have won.

“It was maybe a bit of a missed opportunity but we are still in the cup and we live to have another go.”
