Cristian Lopez is pushing for a start against Rochdale on Tuesday night while there is good news on the progress of Kelvin Langmead.

“Cristian gives us good competition and he’s been excellent in training,” said boss Chris Wilder.

“Joe Widdowson is a lot closer and there is a possibility he could be involved at Morecambe.

“Kelvin is making excellent progress and he’s coming on leaps and bounds.

“He’s back in training and he’s doing a lot of football specific stuff. I’m not sure if he will be back this season but if anyone can do it then I’d put my money on Kelvin.

“We certainly won’t take any risks with him and come the end of the season I think he will be in a really good place.”
