A huge thank you from Northampton Town FC to everyone from grassroots football clubs, schools and youth groups who purchased over 10,000 tickets through last season’s Group Tickets scheme, thereby qualifying for great savings and a ‘FREE’ matchday experience!
This almost doubled last season’s total but next season we will be offering you even more...!
On a matchday at Sixfields, Group Tickets entertain on average, 25-30 different groups. Starting at 11.30am the first group undertake a stadium tour including a game of ‘spot the player’ as the first team arrive, the group(s) then head-off to one of our partners for either bowling at TenPin, or fun and games at Laser Zone or Hullaballoo and then a meal at McDonalds all before the match itself.
Meanwhile at Goals Soccer Centre, a 16 team 5-a-side soccer tournament takes place between 11.30am and 1.30pm called the County Engravers Cup. The competition welcomes teams from the John Henry and Weetabix Leagues as well as teams from Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire too. Congratulations to last season's winners, Grange Park Rangers Yellow - U10’s, Shenley MK - U12’s, Kingsthorpe Jets Blues - U13’s, Roade FC – U14’s and Ise Lodge Hawks – U16’s. The winners and runners up enjoyed receiving their trophies on the Sixfields pitch at half-time presented by a Cobblers player. We also hold non-competitive U7s and U8s festivals too.
After Goals it’s back to Sixfields and while the crowd are taking their seats to watch the players warm up, Clarence visits the Family Stand with sweets for all little Cobblers, with other groups waiting in the dugout for a photo with their favourite player. Around 20 minutes before Kick Off we collect more groups for their experience with two lucky youth football clubs walking out with the teams as they emerge from the tunnel, and more forming the flag-waving Guard of Honour. This season we will be introducing Dance Groups to perform on the pitch at half time.
Talking of half-time, it’s another round of our ‘Stanair Cup’ a penalty shoot-out competition on the pitch, with the winners of each age group receiving a dream prize!! After four hard-fought rounds, our winners last year were FFA Golds U8, Banbury Irish U9, Towcester Town U10, FFA U11 and Bilton Ajax U12, and again both winners and runners up received their trophies on the pitch. After the second-half finishes we are back on the pitch for our last matchday experience of the day, a post-match photo and penalty against Clarence the Dragon.
The faces of the children will tell you the day has been an unforgettable experience!
