Campaign launched to try and help save more lives in Northamptonshire
On Friday night, in the interval of the Northamptonshire Steelbacks Natwest Blast T20 game, Ben Tozer and Alex Nicholls were due to take to the outfield to show off their cricketing skills.
Both players were set to bowl one ball at a set of stumps to support the launch of the I DONATE campaign, to help increase the number of organ donors in Northamptonshire.
There are 148 people in Northamptonshire waiting for a transplant. This year only 11 people living in Northamptonshire have benefited from a life-saving organ transplant. Sadly 44 residents have died due to the shortage of organs in the last 5 Years.
The I DONATE campaign is aimed to encourage the people of Northamptonshire to sign up to the NHS Organ Donor Register and let those closest to them know that they want to be an organ donor and give life.

Sadly, rain prevented the bowling from happening, but boss Chris Wilder was on hand to ring the 5 minute bell ahead of play, before the rain arrived.
