WILDER PLEASED WITH LEVEL OF ALLOA WORK OUT

18 July 2014

The Cobblers boss reflects on Thursday night's game

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder was pleased with Thursday night's 1-1 draw at Alloa.

"It was a good work out for us and another worthwhile exercise," he said.

"A lot of players got 90 minutes under their belt which was good and others got a good 70-75 minutes.

"The standard of the game was good and we had to work really hard to get a result. Alloa passed the ball round well and it was hard work for us.

"The players were a bit disappointed after the game that we hadn't won which I was pleased about because we want to play well and win and on Thursday we played okay and didn't win. We will talk about that and see where we can improve.

"It was a different type of game to what we will have week in week out in League 2.

"We have to be a bit tidier with our passing and our decision making in certain areas needs to improve which it will do as we go through pre-season."
