Assistant manager previews Northampton Town v Sheffield United

Cobblers assistant boss Alan Knill is looking forward to being back at Sixfields for Tuesday night’s pre-season friendly against Sheffield United, ko 7.45pm.

“They are a good side and it will be a big test for us,” he said.

“Under Nigel Clough they really improved last season, and you need to test yourself in pre-season. With the games we’ve had so far it’s been a gradual build up for us and this game is just another progression.

“As a group we want to get behind the ball and make it hard for teams but at the same time we want to attack the opposition.

“We are pleased with where we are as a group and most importantly we haven’t picked up any real injuries. We’ve got a few niggles which you expect in pre-season but nothing too serious.”
