Kevin brings over 13 years experience in the Premier League, the Football League, and first class and international cricket.
Northampton Town have appointed Kevin Smith as the club's new Head of Marketing.
Kevin is an experienced commercial professional with over 13 years experience in the Premier League, the Football League, and first class and international cricket.
As Commercial Director at Bristol City, Kevin was responsible for all revenue generating departments including sponsorship, advertising, ticketing, corporate sales, retail and marketing.
During his time in the Premier League with Birmingham City and Championship with Southampton, Kevin has been a champion of streamlining processes and driving revenue through direct sales and targeted use of club CRM. Obtaining, cleaning and using supporter data is at the forefront of this success, whether that be ticket sales, corporate sales or retail activity.
A period as Business Development Manager at Hampshire Cricket’s Rose Bowl offered Kevin some excellent non-football experience, where he was heavily involved in the stadium development project as The Rose Bowl strived to become the first ‘model Test Match ground’.
Having graduated from University of Exeter with a BSc (Hons) in Sport & Exercise Science in 2000, Kevin quickly set about gaining value hands on experience in the sports industry. He established watchfromabox.com, a sports marketing and hospitality brokerage providing bespoke solutions across a range of sports. Kevin also works with a number of higher education institutions, lecturing on Sport Business Management degree modules and acting as a student mentor.
He is also founder of the Football People organisation.
Another new addition to the Sixfields staff is long time supporter Wendy Lambell, who is joining the club to work full time in the Club Shop and Box Office.
"I am delighted to welcome Kevin Smith to the club as our new Head of Marketing," said Chairman David Cardoza.
"He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge and can help move the club forward off the field. With the welcome addition of lifelong supporter Wendy Lambell in the shop/box office, I am happy we have improved our infrastructure significantly in those areas, and I would like to welcome both to the club."
