GERMANY FAVOURTIES TO BEAT ARGENTINA IN WORLD CUP FINAL

11 July 2014

Germany v Argentina, World Cup Final betting

Germany are favourites to win the World Cup after booking their place in the final in contrasting style to their opponents Argentina.

Joachim Low’s men romped to an emphatic 7-1 victory over hosts Brazil on Tuesday night, before the second semi-final went the 120 minutes without a goal, eventually being settled on penalties.

Argentina had taken favouritism from Brazil ahead of the semis following the news of Neymar’s injury but will head into Sunday’s showpiece as outsiders, with Germany attracting the majority of the money in the run up to the final.

After scoring four times in as many games, Lionel Messi failed to add to that tally in the quarter and semi-finals and shares favouritism to net first with fellow top goalscorer contender Thomas Muller at 11/2.

James Rodriguez still leads the way on six goals with Muller, who has five to his name, 3/1 to overhaul the Colombian and Messi, currently on four, a 16/1 chance.

Toni Kroos and Andre Schurrle both bagged braces in Germany’s demolition of Brazil and are 12/5 and 7/2 respectively to find the net anytime, although another free-scoring game is not expected with over 2.5 goals available at 13/8.
