A Northampton Town XI travelled to Compton Park on Wednesday night to take on Cogenhoe United in a pre-season friendly. Kelvin Langmead, Alex Nicholls, Ben Tozer and Emile Sinclair all started the game.
Emile Sinclair created the first chance of the night but David Moyo couldn’t quite convert after Sinclair had rounded the Cogenhoe keeper.
The Cobblers went close to taking the lead on 17 minutes, an Alex Nicholls shot coming back off the post after some more good work from Sinclair. As the first half reached the midway point Moyo then played in Sinclair but his shot was blocked by the keeper’s legs.
Dean Snedker made a good save to deny Josh Urquhart on 54 minutes before Moyo shot just wide following a powerful run from Sinclair.
Having got another useful 80 minutes under his belt Alex Nicholls was replaced by Richard Parker. There were no more changes for Town in the final few minutes as the game ended goalless.
