KING: 'CONFIDENCE IS CRUCIAL'

Caretaker boss on the importance of building belief ahead of two important home games

Cobblers caretaker boss Andy King says building the confidence levels is important ahead of this Saturday’s home game against Chesterfield.

“The side needs confidence and we need to start winning football matches and start believing,” he said.

“I’m looking for a performance of energy and confidence to build on and I think a couple of wins would make all the difference.

“This is a big week for the club, we’ve got back to back home games and we just need to put two or three results together to give us the confidence to go on a run.

“The players want to be successful and all I’ve got to do is galvanize the group, get some confidence in to them and get them believing.

“I’m trying to get players in before the weekend but we’ve got to make sure that we only bring in players who are going to improve the team because if you get the wrong one in then you are back to square one again.

“We’ve identified what we need but you don’t always get the ones you want.

“We’ve got a cash bid in for a player at the moment and the Chairman doing fantastically well for us and is giving us the best possible opportunity to bring players in.”
