Cobblers boss Chris Wilder is expecting an open and entrtaining game as he prepares for Tuesday night’s home game against Southend United.

“Southend will come here looking to get their season going again and I think you will see two teams going for the three points,” he said.

“We will be positive again and it wasn’t just the result that was so pleasing on Saturday it was the performance as well.

“You could see why we have brought in the experienced players that we have and I thought the players handled the game very well.

“I was happy with a lot of things on Saturday, the shape of the team was good and defensively we were very solid.

“The confidence started to flow through the team after we got the first goal and we played at a good tempo. We always seemed to be on the front foot and we controlled the game.”
