WILDER KEEN TO REPAY TRAVELLING FANS

14 February 2014

The Cobblers boss ahead of Fleetwood Town v Northampton Town

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder says his side will face a tough examination during this Saturday’s trip to Fleetwood Town.

“Fleetwood have done extremely well this season but we’re up for the battle and the challenge and we’re really looking forward to it,” he said.

“We are not out the woods yet by any means but Tuesday’s win has certainly given the players a lot of belief. Teams that do put two or three wins together soon shoot up the league and that’s what we are trying to do.

“From here on in we need 'man' performances all over the pitch and we certainly got that on Tuesday night.

“When we don’t have the ball I want us to be hard to beat and when we do have the ball I want us to be positive.

“The away support has been terrific at both Cheltenham and Torquay, and regardless of numbers the hardy souls that did make the trip on Tuesday night really made themselves heard.

“It was real vocal and passionate support and it was great for the players to go over and salute them at the end of the game and for the fans to do likewise.”
