More minutes on the pitch for returning players
Zander Diamond completed 70 minutes for the reserves on Tuesday afternoon and will be available for selection at Carlisle United this weekend.
“Zander played 70 plus minutes and coming on the back of the 45 minutes he got in the reserve game last week that is a big positive,” said boss Chris Wilder.
“Today was a good test for Zander against a Championship side and he came through it well.
“We can’t wait to have a player like Zander back in the side and to have him available for selection for Saturday is great news.
“Lewis Hornby and Evan Horwood both played as well and some other players got good minutes under their belts as well.
“Overall it was a good work out for us, there were some good individual performances and the attitude of the players was really good.”
