Club helped give youngsters a day to enjoy
We invited some Northamptonshire based young carers, youngsters who through circumstances spend most of their time caring for relatives, friends or others, to the Stevenage game recently and we were delighted to receive the below comments from those who attended:
From a young carer’s family
"Thank you so much for taking (name) out, he doesn’t usually get to do things for himself as everything is around his brother and his illness. It just game him an afternoon of being 'normal' for a change."
This young carer hadn’t been out for a while and was quite nervous about leaving her Mum, but she was able to forget about her worries for the afternoon and have fun.
“…had an amazing time.”
Mr Trevor Froggatt, from the Northamptonshire Young Carers Service said: " The young people had the opportunity to engage with other young carers in similar situations and having a specialised activity helped to bring like-minded people together. The atmosphere was excellent and the Young Carers joined in the cheering “NTFC…NTFC…” and really got into the match.
"They all had an amazing time and we would just like to thank you all for making this experience possible."
