CHRIS WILDER SAYS RETURNING PLAYERS WILL BOOST SQUAD

4 December 2014

The Cobblers boss as five near return

Chris Wilder says the impending return of Zander Diamond, Ryan Cresswell, Lawson D'Ath, Lewis Hornby and Evan Horwood will give his squad a big boost.

"Stewart Murdoch should be okay for Plymouth and we have two behind closed doors games over the next few days and hopefully Zander, Ryan, Lawson, Evan and Lewis will  play in one or the other," he said.

“Joel Byrom got smashed around the neck at Southend and won’t train this week.

"He is suspended for the Plymouth game anyway so I'd imagine he will be fine by the time the Carlisle game comes around.

"We've got good players in the centre half position and there was a reason why we offered both Zander and Ryan three year deals.

"We're looking forward to having them back and they will quite rightly put loads of pressure on the players who are currently playing there because we need that competition."
