The Cobblers boss ahead of Northampton Town v Plymouth Argyle

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder previews Saturday’s game against Plymouth.

“We are desperate to shake off this inconsistency tag and we’d like to think that this is a fresh start for us,” he said.

“If we are going to do something this season we have to be more consistent and I believe that if I can get the team out that I want to get out then we are more than a match for anyone in this division.

“We have worked the players really hard physically over the last week, we’ve had a couple of reserve games and the players have trained extremely hard.

“We are a team that works hard through the week but the top and bottom of it is that you need to produce performances at 3 o’clock on a Saturday.

“Plymouth have got a good strong squad and I’m sure they will be pushing for a place in the top seven come the end of the season, if not the top three. They have got good players right through the team but if we are going to do something in the second half of the season then we need to stop being an up and down side.”
