The views of the Cobblers boss

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder had mixed feelings as he reflected on Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Shrewsbury Town.

“We feel like it’s an opportunity missed for us today and we can’t get away from that but you have to give credit to the opposition,” he said.

“Shrewsbury made it really difficult for us but what you can’t do against a good side with good players is give away a cheap goal.

“It was a really poor goal to concede and then for ten minutes the game just became end to end and it shouldn’t have done.

“They were a tough side to break down but we didn’t switch the play or move the ball around quickly enough in the second half.

“It’s a point against a decent side in a tough run but our standards have been set a little bit higher than that.”
