Chris Wilder previews Portsmouth v Northampton Town

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder is expecting a tough test in Tuesday night’s trip to Portsmouth.

“We approach every game on it’s own merit but it’s a great place to go and play and the players should be looking forward to it,” he said.

“Portsmouth have got a strong squad and some good players but hopefully we can raise our game and cause them a few problems.

“There will always be a big expectation on them because of their support and where they have been and they will be looking to get out of this league.

“It’s two teams who ended last season well and have started well this season so it should be a good game.

“The result is always the most important thing, obviously you want to play well but sometimes you have to show other qualities.

“I felt we did that on Saturday, we are a competitive side, we have to keep our away form going and we are looking forward to the challenge on Tuesday night.”
