CHRIS WILDER ON CAPITAL ONE CUP DEFEAT AT AFC BOURNEMOUTH

26 August 2014

The Cobblers boss on AFC Bournemouth v Northampton Town

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder paid tribute to the victors as he reflected on Tuesday night’s Capital One Cup second round tie at AFC Bournemouth.

“I thought Bournemouth were really good and we struggled to hold on to them,” he said.

“We had a couple of opportunities and I was pleased with our performance in the second half when we were a bit more positive in our play but Bournemouth were the better side and we hold our hands up to that.

“It was a really difficult night for us, we were pleased for Alex Nicholls when he came on and I thought Jordan Archer was outstanding.

“We move on quickly and we’ve got a big game coming up now on Saturday. I’ve said to the players that I want us to be sat after the Exeter game with 3 points and it’s one we want to win to get us climbing up the table.”
