Chris Wilder ahead of Wolverhampton Wanderers v Northampton Town

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder is excited by the prospect of Tuesday night’s Capital One Cup first round tie at Wolves.

“It’s a great tie for us,” he said.

“Whatever side Wolves put out it is going to be one full of quality and we know that we are going to have to play really well and maybe have one or two things go our way on the night if we are going to get through.

“Wolves will have a lot of possession and when they do we will need to be resilient and compact but we can approach the game with no pressure and when we do have the ball we have to be positive.

“Saturday was a good start for us but now we move onto the next game. We can improve in certain areas and we’ve got things we need to work on but I think we were full value for our result against Mansfield.”
