The views of the Cobblers assistant boss

Cobblers assistant boss Alan Knill felt Northampton Town fully deserved Saturday’s win against Exeter City.

“It was a tough game but we were much better in the second half and in the end I think we deserved the three points,” he said.

“We spoke at half-time and myself and Chris both felt we were just waiting for something to happen rather than making it happen ourselves.

“In the first half we didn’t play anywhere near as well as we can do but we upped the tempo and in the second half we created a lot more chances and could have wrapped the game up.

“We’ve got a habit of scoring late goals and at the end of the day it’s about the result. We’ve had a tough month and I think 8 points from our first 5 games is a pretty decent return.”
