WILDER "WE HAVE TO BE POSITIVE"

The Cobblers boss previews Saturday's game at Accrington

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder previews Saturday’s trip to Accrington Stanley.

“We understand that it is a big game but there is no reason why we can’t go there and win and then the picture changes yet again,” he said.

“I’m absolutely positive that there are going to be loads more twists and turns in the next six games as there have been in the last six and we’ve just got to go again on Saturday and be positive.

“The first goal is really important in this league and we need to try and make sure we get our noses in front on Saturday.

“I understand that there is a lot of nervousness around but we are three points behind the team above us with six games to go and I’ve certainly not written this season off.

“We have to be as positive as we possibly can both on the pitch and on the training ground and that will be my message to the players this week.

“In the last two or three games we’ve not taken advantage of certain situations but we’ve been in this position all season and I know that there is a lot more fight left in this group of players.

“When we came in we spoke about being in and around it with five games to go and if it goes down to the last kick of the last game of the season then so be it.

“We hope it won’t come to that but if it does then we will deal with it, the remit for me was to keep the club up and I still believe that we have got enough in the changing room to make that happen.”
