CHAIRMAN ON SEASON TICKET SUPPORT

8 April 2014

David Cardoza thanks fans for their backing

Chairman David Cardoza has thanked supporters who have already purchased a season ticket for 2014/15, and has stressed how important their support is for the club.

“We are really thankful to the supporters who have already purchased a season ticket and it’s very important for our cash flow at this time of year," he said.

“A lot of fans are saying why didn’t we wait until after the season finished and why didn’t we put prices down in case we do go down but our finances get cut so severely if we do go down that we couldn’t risk putting prices down, we had to keep them the same.

“We lose hundreds of thousands of pounds in Football League money if we go down plus the drop in gates and if we did put prices down and season ticket sales were cut in half we’d lose so much more money and to be honest we wouldn’t be able to survive.

“If the worst comes to the worst we obviously want to come straight back up and we aren’t going to do that with limited cash, so we want to have as much money in the bank as possible.

“Every single season ticket we sell helps the club’s revenue for next season and basically it means that we can plan better.

“It’s going to be a new look Sixfields next season, we’ve just put in a planning application for the West Stand and the East Stand is being stripped out now. It’s all happening and it bodes well for the future of the club."
