AIDY LOOKING FORWARD TO IRON CLASH

The views of the Cobblers boss

Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd previews Saturday’s game against Scunthorpe United.

“It’ll be a difficult game as they all are but it’s a home game for us and we want to put one or two things right,” he said.

“I know Brian Laws very well and I’ve seen a couple of DVDs of Scunthorpe play.

“We are going in the right direction, the work ethic is there and it’s one of those games we’d just like to win no matter how we do it.

“I’ve watched Tuesday’s game again and there is no doubt that the sending off changed the game. It was a very poor error of judgement from Ish and it left us wide open.

“The bottom line with Ish is that he is a decent person but it’s not the first time in his career that this has happened and I am very disappointed with him.

“Even with ten men we still gave a very good account of ourselves and I think we are definitely moving in the right direction.

“We still had a go and there were some excellent performances from the likes of Jacob Blyth and Matty Harriott.

“We are a little bit off the shirt tails of the teams at the top at the minute but we are creating chances. We’ve got two home games coming up now and we know that we’ve got to start racking up some points.”
