AIDY FELT RESULT WAS FAIR

7 September 2013

The views of the Cobblers boss

Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd felt a draw was a fair result against Scunthorpe United.

“As a whole I think 1-1 was probably about fair,” he said.

“We never really got at it in the way that we can but that’s not down to a lack of effort, it’s more that we are a team that is still developing and that will come over the next few months.

“I honestly think that this is a massive point for us today because after they scored we could have easily crumbled.

“The longer the game went on the stronger we got and we looked the more likely team to score.

“The goal against us was unacceptable so I was disappointed with that because our defending and attacking from set plays is something we pride ourselves on.

“Clive Platt is very important to us and when he plays the team is stronger and we do better.

“I didn’t think the service to Roy was too good in the first half but it was much better to Jacob and Clive in the second half.

“We start again on Monday now and look forward to trying to get three points against a very good Exeter side.”
