AIDY LEFT TO RUE 'MAD 5 MINUTES'

12 October 2013

The views of the Cobblers boss

Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd was a disappointed man after the 2-0 loss at Oxford United.

"Five minutes of madness cost us the game," he said.

"We created a couple of good chances, ones we should have taken, but it wasn't to be for us today.

"I don't think it was a penalty for Oxford but he shouldn't have been allowed to get into that position in the first place.

"We huffed and puffed in the second half but the game had gone by then.

"The effort and the willingness is there but unfortunately the concentration for that five minutes at the end of the first half wasn't.

"We will climb the table, the signs are there and the work ethic is there and we will come through this.

"Roy O'Donovan has been struggling with an ankle injury this week and to lose both Joe Widdowson and Chris Hackett from last week obviously isn't ideal.

"Hopefully Joe and Chris will be okay for next week and there's no doubt that having a settled side definitely helps.

"When we've won this season we've had a settled side and when we've lost we haven't.

"We will assess things on Monday and we may look to add to the squad this week."
