The Cobblers will be without Chris Hackett (suspension) and loan midfielder Kane Ferdinand, who has been recalled by Peterborough, for this Saturday’s visit from Accrington Stanley.

“Kane did really well for us and we appreciate Peterborough letting him come here on loan,” said manager Aidy Boothroyd.

“When you’ve got good players on loan who do well there is always that chance that they will get recalled, I’ve spoken to Kane and thanked him for his efforts but now we’ve got to look to the next one.

“Players have been left out that I brought in to start but sometimes when players are left out and then come back in it does improve things."

Talking about two of his long term injured players, the Cobblers boss said:

“We are probably looking at February March time for Kelvin Langmead.

“It is going to be a longer term injury because we rushed him back for the play-offs last season and we want to make sure that he is one hundred per cent right.

“Kelvin and Alex Nichols have both been brilliant for us and we are going to do all we can to get them back to fitness as fast as possible.

“They are both working hard to get back and I’m hoping that we are going to see both of them put the shirt on again before the end of the season but its one step at a time with them because we don’t want to give them any more problems.”
