Aidy Boothroyd has confirmed that winger Chris Hackett will be fit for Saturday's game at Hartlepool.

“Chris has had a long-standing groin problem but he should be okay for Saturday,” confirmed the Cobblers boss.

“He played very well last Saturday and unfortunately we had to bring him off at half-time just as a precaution because we don’t want to lose him for key games over a longer period.

“I feel that Chris is our strongest and best attacking player at the moment and he’s not only likely to create goals he is also likely to score them.

“He’s a big player for us and if he’s fit, as I am sure he will be, he’ll play.

“Kevin Amankwaah, Matt Heath and Clive Platt are all back in training but Roy O’Donovan is not right yet.

“We have got too many players here at the minute but the lads that have come in have done very well and I know that this team can get better.

“We looked strong again on Saturday and I think the more games we play the more we will improve as a team.”

The Cobblers are 5/2 to win this weekend with Sky Bet and if you open an account and deposit before the end of November, the Cobblers will get a £10 bonus. Join Now!
