Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd is looking forward to a 'tough examination' in Saturday’s game at Hartlepool United, a game the Cobblers are 5/2 to win with www.skybet.com/northampton.

“I’m looking forward to the game and I think it will be a good game of football,” he said.

“Hartlepool didn’t start the season very well but they’ve picked up as we have and Colin Cooper and Craig Hignett are doing a good job up there.

“I think it’s a really good game for us and having three games in a week gives us a good chance to add to what we’ve done in the last two games.

“Bishop’s Stortford was a huge result but Saturday was gigantic for us. We gave as good as we got if not better and in the end I thought it was a fair result against a very strong team.

“We got the goal in the 90th minute which is a great time to score, we’ve had plenty of those go against us this season but I think that is a mark of where we are as a team.

“We are growing and building as a team and Saturday was another building block towards what we are trying to do.

“It was a great free-kick from Luke Norris and he is one of those players who has the ability to hit the ball and make it move. His goal at Rochdale is an example of that and when he hits the ball it stays hit.

“I did feel that we maybe could have had a couple of penalties as well but if you ask enough questions and put the ball in the right areas enough then you hope because of the quality of the players and their willingness to win that you will win more than you lose and that was the case on Saturday.

“Ben Tozer was terrific and I think that says a lot about his character. He had to come out of the team earlier in the season for his own good but he’s trained really hard and he’s shown a great willingness to get back into the team.”

The Cobblers are 5/2 to win this weekend with Sky Bet and if you open an account and deposit before the end of November, the Cobblers will get a £10 bonus. Join Now!
