AIDY - 'IT'S STILL WIDE OPEN'

Cobblers boss ahead of Sunday's second leg

Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd previews Sunday’s play-off semi-final second leg at Whaddon Road.

“You know what a second leg of a play-off is all about and you know what you have got to do,” he said.

“Cheltenham will have to approach the game differently and so do we.

“We think that we can go and score anywhere and we have proved that we can do that.

“We have got to go there and make sure that we are very solid because we will get an onslaught from Cheltenham which we will have to deal with.

“Cheltenham are a good side, defensively they are very strong and they don’t concede many goals.

“The tie is still wide open, there isn’t much between the two sides and we are going to have to be at our best to get through.

“Kelvin Langmead and Clive Platt both trained again on Thursday and I had them on the bench to bring on but I just felt that we were doing so well that I didn’t really need to change it.

“I made one tactical change with Ben Tozer moving in front of the back four but with Kelvin and Clive they will both now have had a few extra days to recover and they will certainly come into the mix for Sunday.

“Joe Widdowson missed out and I’m not so sure he is going to be fit for Sunday. He’s had a difficult injury and he’s probably tried to come back too soon so we are just going to nurse him through.”
