The views of the Cobblers boss

Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd reflected on the play-off semi-final first leg victory over Cheltenham Town.

“First of all I’d like to thank our supporters,” he said.

“The crowd were brilliant tonight and they really kept us going.

“These games are about fine margins and it was a wonderful move for the goal.

“It was a good strong positive performance and it was a great ball in from Chris Hackett for the goal.

“Roy O’Donovan has got a non stop work ethic, he got his goal tonight and he could have may be got another one.

“Bayo got into some great positions and his goal will come.

“We worked really hard and their goalkeeper made a couple of great saves.

“There were quite a few contenders for man of the match but I thought Nathan Cameron was excellent and he proved tonight why I brought him to the club.

“It’s only half-time but we’ve given ourselves a good chance against a good team going into the second leg.”
