AIDY PRAISES AWAY DISPLAY

12 March 2013

The views of the Cobblers boss

Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd was pleased with the performance of his team in the 1-1 draw at Morecambe.

"It was a great game and I thought we could have nicked it in the end," he said.

"We've tried all different kinds of connotations away from home that haven't quite worked but tonight we were strong and I thought we played ever so well.

"We peppered their goal and on another day it could have quite easily finished 4-3 to us.

"Morecambe are a decent team and I knew it was going to be a very hard game and in the end it is a really good point for us.

"We are solid and we've got a nice balance at the back.

"Ishmel Demontagnac was excellent tonight and I thought he carried on his form from Saturday. He has got that X Factor but he's got to do it consistently.

"Before the game I would have taken a point and if we win our home games and continue to pick up points away from home then we will get automatic promotion.

"This was as good an away performance as we've had this season, we hit the post four times and if we keep playing as well as we did tonight then we will win games.

"I would like to thank the fans who travelled all the way up here tonight, and I am pleased they can return home with something to show for it."
