Cobblers boss happy with Croatia progress
Northampton Town boss Aidy Boothroyd has declared himself pleased with the progress of the club's pre-season training camp in Croatia after the first three days.
"The best news is that there is no news," said boss Aidy Boothroyd.
"Things are going perfectly to plan out here. The lads are working hard and although this sounds like a contradiction, we are seeing them both get fitter and getting more tired as the week goes on and as the work they have done builds up.
"Their strength, speed and fitness is improving and we know they are working very hard because most of them are fast asleep by 9pm each evening!
"But that's the point of this trip, to work hard and get this work in the bank.
“We have arranged a behind closed doors training game against a team made up of local players on Saturday evening (4pm kick off BST) just to give some of our lads the feel of an eleven a side game again.
"So far, so good."
