Plus Cobblers boss on the trialists

Aidy Boothroyd was pleased with the work out at Sileby Rangers on Saturday, and said that some of the trialists who played will get another chance to impress.

"We will be keeping all the trialists on for a little bit longer apart from Mickael Antoine-Curier," he said.

"Mickael has got other opportunities elsewhere and I want to use that money in other areas.

"JJ Hooper scored a hat-trick on Saturday and the boy has certainly got talent.

"It's going to be a tight squad this year but it is going to be a squad packed with quality.

"I was really pleased with how it went on Saturday and I thought the pitch, the facilities and everyone connected with Sileby were absolutely first class.

"The weather was a big factor but I thought we played omen good stuff and I was quite pleased with a lot of things."
