AIDY RELISHING FLEETWOOD TEST

4 January 2013

The views of the Cobblers boss

Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd is looking forward to the visit of Fleetwood Town.

“We shouldn’t really ever need any extra motivation but after losing late on at Fleetwood earlier in the season there is a little bit of that in the back of our minds for Saturday,” he said.

“We thought Danny East shouldn’t have been sent off in that game but that’s life and hopefully these things even themselves out over the course of the season.

“We defended very well against a good team but we got beat in the very last second and yes that does still rankle with us a little bit so we do need to put it right.

“It won’t be easy because Fleetwood are a good side but if we want to be successful we have got to keep trying to improve on all aspects of our play.

“We have got to make sure that we compete and beat the teams around us.

“We want to win every game no matter who it’s against and if we start worrying about the opposition too much then we will have a problem. We have to respect our opponent but there are so many areas in which we can improve as a team and that’s what we need to concentrate on.

“It’s important that we don’t get too carried away and our first aim is to get to 49 points which we want to do sooner rather than later.

“We are not looking beyond that and the most important target is always the next game.”
