KING DELIGHTED WITH VICTORY

9 February 2013

The views of the Cobblers assistant boss

Assistant manager Andy King reflected on the 3-1 win against Rochdale.

“It was a good team performance today,” he said.

“Rochdale played extremely well for the first 25 minutes which gave us a lot of problems.

“The fact that we came back at them after that though and in the end won the game quite comfortably probably gave us even more satisfaction.

“You always contain a threat when you don’t concede a goal and although they had chances I never felt that they really threatened us that much in terms of scoring a goal.

“It’s not about individuals and it was a great team effort today. Chris Hackett has had a great season, he gives us that energy going forward and his end product today was fantastic.

“We showed great character to come back quickly after they equalised and it was a great delivery from Ben Harding for Kelvin Langmead to score from the corner.

“At home we have got that belief and confidence and even after they equalised I expected us to come back.

“The players worked their socks off today and we know what we have got to do.

“Football is about confidence and for me personally we have got to go to Southend with the belief that we are going to win.”
