AIDY HONEST AFTER PLYMOUTH SUCCESS

23 February 2013

The views of the Cobblers boss

Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd on the 1-0 victory over Plymouth.

“We were really made to fight and scrap for that today,” he said.

“We didn’t play very well today but at any stage of the season it’s about winning and we ground out a result.

“I thought we maybe had a bit of fortune with the goal but we didn’t have much luck at Wimbledon in the same situation on Tuesday and these things even themselves out.

“We want to keep our home form going and we want to entertain as well.

“Roy and Clive wore their two centre backs down in the end and we probably created more in the last 25 minutes than we did in the rest of the game.

“We all know that we can play better than we did today but to keep a clean sheet at home and to win 1-0 we will take that.

“In my experience what separates teams at this stage of the season is that you keep your best players fit.

“When you’re not starting you have got to stay professional and you’ve got to be ready at any time.”
