The views of the Cobblers boss
Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd was a happy man after the 1-0 win against Bristol Rovers.
“It was a tight game and the weather definitely played a part,” he said.
“It was a bit scrappy at times and I thought it was two evenly matched teams having a real go at each other.
“They are fighting for their lives and we are fighting for promotion and you are going to get games like that at this stage of the season.
“In the end we managed to win it with a set play and as long as you win the game it doesn’t matter when you win it.
“We work very hard on our set plays and it’s another clean sheet at home which is terrific.
“Chris Hackett has been playing with two or three little knocks for a while now and I just thought it was a good game to rest him to make sure that he’s right for Saturday.
“He could have played tonight but it would have been at a push and I might have risked losing him for the rest of the season and I wasn’t prepared to do that.
“Bayo landed awkwardly on his hip in the first half but like Chris he will be okay for Saturday.”
