AIDY DEMANDS STRONG MENTALITY

Cobblers boss previews Wimbledon trip

Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd believes Tuesday night’s trip to AFC Wimbledon will be the toughest game of the season for his side.

In recent weeks promotion chasers Port Vale, Burton Albion and in form Wycombe have all failed to win at Kingsmeadow, while on Saturday Bradford City were beaten.

“Wimbledon got a very good result at the weekend against Bradford so we know it is going to be a very difficult game,” he said.

“Neal Ardley has got the club at heart and it’s his first managerial job so he will want to put his stamp on it. That does take a bit of time and similar to how we were last year they are scrapping and fighting for their lives.

“We know that if we don’t approach the game right we’ll get beat, this is our toughest game and we have got to go there with a very solid, strong mentality.

“The next three games are really important and if we can get a win at Wimbledon or even a point then that puts us in good spirits going into two home games."
