Football League Youth Alliance Cup action
Northampton Town's youth team were in action at Moulton College on Saturday morning as they took on Colchester United in the Football League Youth Alliance Cup.
Goals from Dodzi Agbenu (2) and Kieran Fitzgerald saw the quarter-final tie end 3-3 in normal time with Colchester winning the ensuing penalty shoot-out 4-3 to progress in the competition.
"We were 3-2 up going into the last minute but that just goes to show how cruel football can be sometimes," said under 18s coach Craig Hinton.
"The lads did really well after being a goal down at half-time but we couldn't quite see it through.
"It was a good performance and I feel for the lads because on the balance of play I felt we were the better side and deserved to go through. Football can be harsh on you at times and you don't always get what you deserve."
