PLATT AND HACKETT COME THROUGH WORK OUT

20 August 2013

Reserves win at Watford

Clive Platt and Chris Hackett both came through a behind closed doors reserve team game at Watford on Tuesday afternoon.

Platt played 55 minutes and Hackett 75 as the Cobblers beat a strong Watford second string 2-0 thanks to goals from JJ Hooper and Ishmel Demontagnac.

"It was a good work out for us," said boss Aidy Boothroyd who was happy with what he saw.

"Clive and Chris both came through strongly and to have two such influential players approaching fitness again is a big boost to us.

"Clive is very much in contention for Saturday and it was good for those two, and some of the lads who have been on the bench in the last few weeks, to get some minutes under their belts."
