The Johnstone’s Paint Trophy is hitting the road to help mark the start of the 2013-14 campaign.
The trophy will be heading to Milton Keynes on Tuesday for the first round tie between MK Dons and the Cobblers.
The match will be the 500th in the history of MK Dons, and an afternoon and evening of exciting activity will be staged by the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy team in the build-up to one of the games of the round.
The action begins on Tuesday afternoon at the Johnstone’s Decorating Centre in Milton Keynes, where both sets of supporters will have the opportunity to have their picture taken with the coveted Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
There will also be the chance to win a replica Johnstone’s Paint Trophy match ball during the event, which will be held between 2pm and 5pm at the Decorating Centre at Drew Court, Bletchley Motorist Trade Outlet Centre on Watling Street, West Granby, MK6 4AE.
As well as the picture opportunities, supporters can benefit from special discounts on Johnstone’s Paint, including an offer on Johnstone’s Covaplus Vinyl Matt emulsion which can be matched to any Johnstone’s Paint Trophy team colour, giving fans the chance to get their club colours in their home.
From there, the trophy will make its way to Stadiummk where supporters of both MK Dons and Northampton Town will once again get an opportunity to have their picture taken with the trophy in the club shop between 6pm and 7pm.
The big match action gets underway at 7.45pm but the fun for supporters doesn’t end there.
Both MK Dons and Northampton Town are running competitions on their Twitter and Facebook pages, offering two supporters from each club the opportunity to go head-to-head and take part in the Paint Pot Challenge – a unique test of accuracy - on the pitch during half-time.
“It’s a big game for both clubs and we are delighted to be starting our eighth season of Johnstone’s Paint Trophy action at the game between MK Dons and Northampton Town,” said Johnstone’s Brand & Sponsorship Manager Ben Wilde.
“There is plenty going on throughout the afternoon and evening for supporters to get involved in and enjoy, from the chance to having a picture taken with the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy to a fantastic opportunity to get on the pitch at half-time for the Paint Pot Challenge.
“It will be a memorable day both on and off the pitch.”
